Director of Aviation
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provide management and leadership
for all Air Serv Flight Operations.
REPORTS TO:CEO/President
LOCATION OF POSITION: Warrenton, VA
RESPONSIBILITIES: •Develop and support initiatives that help Air Serv International achieve the vision that Our Flights save lives and bring hop to a suffering world •Participate in development & implementation of annual flight operations budget. •Develop/maintain professional relationship w/ key partner aircraft leasing cos. •Assure mng'nt/oversight of technical compliance, aircraft purchase/leasing. •Develop and maintain relationships with Home Team members, including other NGO's/PVO's, Government Agencies and UN organizations. •Ensure Flight Operations preparedness for Disaster Response worldwide. •Ensure continued safe/ reliable service to Air Serv relief/development programs. •Effective management of all aircraft owned and leased. •Ensures adherence and compliance with all government regulatory issues related to aircraft operations. •Supports in assessments for new program/proper sizing of existing programs. •Ensures ongoing evaluation and standardization of aircraft and crews. •Ensures that all aircraft insurance policies, air worthiness certificates and other documentation meet requirements and are in-force. •Ensures all pilots meet Air Serv standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: •Pilot with 10 years experiences (Commercial, MEI, Instructor) •MBA or BS/BA w/ 3 yrs proven aviation management exp. •5 years Leadership experience and documented training courses attended SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY: •People oriented, performance driven •Proven leadership, organizational and administrative skills •Proven backgrnd in aviation-related operations, prefer incl'd international exp. •Able to manage and support a budget process •Excellent communication and writing skills •Knowledge of developing countries and how Air Serv helps with Rapid Response Relief, and Development. •Computer literate w/ advanced word processing and spreadsheet skills. •Fleet management experience •Safety background •Aircraft purchasing background •Travel 10% PHYSICAL QUALIFICATION: •Ability to lift 20-30lbs IF INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT USA VAJDA lvaida@airserv.ora
