Monday was veiy cool. Not just the weather, but the work that Steve Dareing and his crew are doing over in SperryviUe.
They are working with wood the old fashioned way - by hand with a mallet and chisel. Tbgether, they are crafting what will be a veiy large bam, pieced together with precisely cut posts and beams. It’s called timber frame construction, and its renaissance is happening in Rappahannock.
There is a tent set up for the crew to go over the drawings and do some of the work under shelter, but their current work space is outside, surrounded by a few rustic buildings and towering trees in the distance.
