Did your Mother let you lick the potato masher when she made mashed potatoes? Mine did. These days, we usually use , the electric mixer to mash them up, but Mom mostly used a hand masher with a red wooden handle and you could hear her making mashed potatoes all over the house. And when she made a cake, sometimes on Saturday, for Sunday dinner, we would line up to get to lick the mixers and spoons and dashers and spatulas.
