The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire and Rescue department was recently invited to attend the first ever Valor Awards ceremony sponsored by the Front Royal/Warren County Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Warren County Fire & Rescue Company 10.
The awards presented were in recognition of acts of service given in a life threat* ening situation. In attendance were members of the Front Royal Vol. Fire department as well as Warren County Fire Chief Richard Mabie and several other Warren County Emergency Services personnel. Also in attendance were Warren County Sheriff Daniel McEathron along with members of his staff and Front Royal Police Chief Ronald Williamson and members of his department. Special guests in attendance were Virginia State Senator Mark D. Obenshain and Virginia State Delegate Clay Athey both of whom presented the awards to both the law enforcement and fire and rescue personnel.
Chester Gap Fire & Rescue, Company 9 was recognized for its efforts in response to a chocking/respiratory arrest call it had run last September at the 4-H center in Warren County which is in their first due response area. Front Royal Fire & Rescue
