April 17: RCCA Board Meeting
Community members are invited to attend the April RCCA Board Meeting. The Rappahannock County Conservation Alliance holds its monthly Board of Directors’ meeting on the third Tuesday of each month from 5:30 -7:00 at the RCCA office at the Schoolhouse in Sperryviile at the comer of Routes 522 & 211. April 2h Fodderstack Race
Race starts at 10 am. from the north end of Flint Hill on Route 522 at the Warehouse and ends at the courthouse in Washington. Pre-registration by April 16 with family rates available. Call Jean Lillard at 540-675-3670 or John McCarthy at 540675-5330 for application or pick one up in town.
April 21: “Alive and Kicking’’
The Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society and the Aging Together Rappahannock County Elder Care Coalition present “Alive and Kicking.” Free health scans will be provided by the American Cancer Society, Culpeper and Fauquier Hospitals, Rappahannock Lions Sight and Hearing Van, University of Virginia Medical Center and others from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock County High School. Also, at the high school from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m„ the 3rd annual “Community Conversation on Aging” will take place. April 22: High School picnic
Students and teachers from the classes of 1949 through 1955 are invited to the Rappahannock Park on Sunday, April 22 at 1 p.m. for a time of fun and reminiscing. Plan to eat around 2 p.m. bring a covered dish beverage and a chair. Each student or teacher may bring their spouse or friend only (due to limited parking). May 1: Kindergarten registration
All children who will be five years old by September 30, 2007 may enter Kindergarten this August. Registration for new kindergartners wtf be held at RCES on Tuesday, May 1, Wednesday, May 2 and Thursday, May 3. The hours are 9 a.m.-1l:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. by appointment If you know erf any children in Rappahannock County who wilt be five by September 30 (including your own), we would greatly appreciate your giving us that information so that we may contact their parents and arrange an appointment The parents may also cal or visit the school for more details at (540) 967-8259.
