Monira Rifaat and Tbm Junk asked questions about the number of teachers that were in the school. .

After the school board declined to answer the questions during the public hearing, James Gannon from the Rappahannock Voice protested.

“It surprises me that there is no willingness on the part of the school board to respond to a question during a public hearing,” he stated. “If this is not appropriate for this setting, I don’t know what other forum would be.”

Marlor responded that questions could be posed to the school board after the public session.

“The public session is a place where the board listens and the public speaks,” Marlor stated, adding that each citizen had ultimate access to their representatives for questioning.

Ron Frazier, the county supervisor for the Jackson District, stood up to lecture the school board on their behavior.

“You are asking these people for their money,” he said. “Shouldn’t you be able to answer their questions before you vote
