The Flint HOI Ladies Auxiliary presented on May 7 a check for $4,000 to the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department. The check presentation was made to Emory Russell, Treasure of the Flint Hill Fire Department, during the Ladies Auxiliary meeting.

The Ladies Auxiliary, with some 20 members, worked diligently for a year raising the $4,000. In addition, this year the Ladies Auxiliary also purchased a new refrigerator for the fire hall Since 1981, the Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary has turned over $14,000 to the volunteer firefighters.

“With role changing where so many women have outside interests, it’s hard to get younger people involved,” Ladies Auxiliary president Peggy Ralph said.
