Extension Homemakers are learning, serving and growing in Rappahannock County.
Extension Homemaker clubs are organized groups engaged in continuing education with the purpose of helping individuals and families cope with problems in an ever changing society. ... Anyone can join. Meetings are held at the best time for members, usually once a month. Membership costs very little. The major cost is the time spent attending club meetings and activities. Dues for each member this ya*r were $1.10. Local clubs havje been donating an additional $1 to the area and county councils for expenses.
Our Homemaker clubs also support the international program by collecting voluntary contributions of “Pennies for Friendship.” The national organization is supported by voluntary contributions to “Nickles for National.”
Interesting programs are planned and led by club members, trained leaders, experts and extension agents. Each club is free to have activities such as tours, workshops and seminars in which the members feel they have a common need or interest.
Rappahannock now has four Extension Homemaker clubs. They meet once a month at 7:30 p.m.
