Also joining the staff is Franklin Schmidt. Schmidt will serve as staff photographer and 8 ports writer. Schmidt journalistic experience began at the New York Post where he was a copybody and continued at Boston University as photographer on the University newspaper. He has 25 years of experience as a photographer. Schmidt became a graphic designer at the New York City Educational Television Station and worked days as a photographer/photo researcher for an encyclopedia publisher before moving to Virginia in 1973.
The Schmidts came to Rappahannock in 1979.
