“We’re still young,” said RCHS baseball coach Dm Dawson of his 1964 Panthers. “I start live sophomores, two juniors and two seniors. We’re still getting better.”
With nine games under their bats and five more to play, the Panthers are 4-5 overall and 3-3 in district play. Their performance ranks them third in Bull Ran, tied with Strasburg aftd Clarice and trailing Manassas Park (7-1) and first place George Mason (7-1).
George Mason was runner-up in the state’s single “A” division last year, Dawson noted. “And Manassas Park has everyone back from a team that went 17-4,” he added. “They’re the teams to beat.”
