When Country Elegance of Sperryville opened on April 15, it had a lot of family behind it. That’s because the quaint store and accompanying cabins are owned and operated by the Burkes: Brad and Joan and their son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Beverly. “The four of us are going to make the decisions, not just one of us.” Brad said with conviction.
Brad long had dreamed of starting such a business, one in which he could create and build things of value with his own hands—something he knew the family could participate in and enjoy as well.
The Burkes are from Amissville, and already had built a solid reputation in the construction business. Brad had been a construction worker since 1956. when, after high school graduation, he began working apth his father. His son Glemfcf a skilled mason, also nas/Pstablished a good reputation.
