Classical Day At Wakefield
Friday, May 11 will be Classical Day at Wakefield School. An annual event sponsored by the school’s Greek and Latin Departments, daylong activities this year will include student orations, a “slave” auction, Roman banquet, gladiatorial events, chariot races, and a play by the 5th Grade Ancient History class entitled, “The Wrath of Achilles”.
Events will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the school auditorium. The public is cordially invited to attend.
Lions Club Auction
The Rappahannock Lions Club is engaged in collecting items for sale at their annual auction to be held at the Washington fire hall on Saturday, May 26 at 10 a.m. Funds raised are reinvested into the county. Since 1979 the Lions have contributed over $7,615 in direct financial support of health improvement, youth projects, scholarships, hearing aids, eye glasses and exams and numerous other worthwhile projects.

The Goose Creek Herb Guild will hold its* third annual Herb Plant Sale on Friday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Middleburg Community Center on U.S. Route 50 in Middleburg. s*
