Sculpture
A new work of art is on display for a limited time at r MIDDLE STREET GAi* * LERY-r-a sculpture by j, I Huntly artist NATALIE' LEWIS. The piece currently at the Gallery is a striking and sensuous alabaster cat, curled in sleep. The form conveys graat energy despite the restful posture; the smooth texture and subtle curves of the stone imply all of the sleekness and strength of feline movement. It will whet the appetite for seeing more of Natalie’s work.
Soon at Middle Street
In the assembly stages now is a new show of works by local artists, scheduled to be on display from mid-May through the end of June. Artists to be represented in the show include DAN LEWIS, LELIA LUCAS, LAURIE MARSHALL, REX MORGAN SLACK, and SCOTT ROBINSON, among others, and media will range from miniatures to drawings.
In addition to the upcoming exhibit, two regular contributors to the Gallery will soon have new works on display—MAGGIE MORRIS, a Castleton sculptor well known for her expressive animals formed in stone and bronze; and ERIC KVARNES, who creates imaginative works of hand Mown glass in both subtle and vibrant colon.
Middle Street is open for viewing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
