Due to increased operating costs, members voted to raise membership dues, effective immediately. For years, dues had been $3 per individual, $5 per couple and $1 per dependent, a fee that barely netted enough to pay for newsletter postage. Dues were raised to $6 per individual, $10 per couple, and $2 for each dependent child whose parents are paid up.
The Historical Society also elected new officers. Stepping down from the president’s post was Lucia Kilby. She will be replaced president-elect Rex Lindstrom. Dorothy Davis became vice-president; Cathy Kneupfer continues as secretary/librarian; Mary Updike is treasurer, assisted by Margaret Muter, and Helen Holschuh continues as historian.
