ATHLETIC DIRECTOR John Toth was one of the few in the Rappahannock contingent far sighted enough to bring an umbrella to the Bull Run finals at Clarke County.
Try-Outs Scheduled
Little League try-outs will be held Saturday, May 5 and May 12, at 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School’s field. Boys and girls, ages 8-12, are invited. In addition, parent volunteers are welcome.

It’s almost time for the umpire’s call of'“Batter up!”. Try-outs for Little League are already underway and adult teams are organizing and practicing.
As part of the spring training at the Rappahannock News office, we’re organizing, too. Unfortunately, staffing restraints prevent us from covering each and every game in person but we want to include a report on each and every game on our sports pages. To do so, we need the help of the playere, coaches and managers.
We’re asking a representative from every local team, be it softball, hardball, tennis, golf or other summer sports, to call us so we can arrange a vMak of regular contacts to get game results. We’re depending on you for help so we can report each Little League homerun, each slow pitch strike out.
