“By ‘we’,” he added, “I mean the members of the School Board, the administrative staff, the teachers and the community.
Asked to name the accomplishment which highlights his tenure in Rappahannock, Mr. Estabrook replied that “capital outlay would be pretty darn close to the top. It has been a real long-standing need ... it was a real accomplishment on the part of a number of people.”
Other sources of pride, he continued,
three years: 12, 12 and 10 permit for those years. “That was another joint effort; the School Board, the supervisors, the staff.”
“I’m certainly pleased,” he added, “with the outstanding progress of the county’s ranking on the minimum competency tests. Just a couple of years ago we ranked number four in the state. I’m very proud of that.”
Mr. Estabrook said that “our district has had a number of challenges, and I have had outstanding support from the School Board - I’m very thankful for that - they’ve been a nice group to work with.”
