treasurer for more than 30 years and chairman of the board of deacons until ill health forced him to resign.

He was employed for 50 years at Fauquier Hospital. After retirement he participated actively in the Senior Citizens program.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife Mrs. Alice Walker, three sons, Paul Walker, Sacramento, Calif., Rev. Morris J. Walker Jr., Ashland, and Landon C. Walker, Mattapan, Mass., three daughters, Mrs. Verna V. Cooke, Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Margaret M. Sanford, Alexandria, and Mrs. Mary A. Jones, Chicago, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a foster daughter Mrs. Willetta Grayson Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted May 30 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Moyer Foddrell. Rev. Morris Walker Jr. delivered the eulogy. Interment was at Warrenton cemetery.

John Souders

John E. Souders, 73, of Sperryville, died May 31 in Fauquier Hospital.

Mr. Souders is survived by his wife Doris M. Souders, two sons, John M. Souders, Waterford, and Thomas Michael Souders, Frederick, Md., a daughter Sushi G. Phillips, Apex, N.C., four grandchildren and an aunt Caroline Pearson, Warrenton.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Moser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
