The Board of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has reviewed and concurred with the expansion of the Gypsy Moth Quarantine in the Commonwealth as recommended by Commissioner S. Mason Carbaugh.

The quarantine extension, which went into effect earlier this year, is necessary “because of those newlyinfested araes which were found as a result of surveys conducted this past spring and summer,” Mr. Carbaugh said.

The areas now under the regulations imposed by the quarantine include the counties of Accomack, Caroline, Gloucester, Goochland, Greene, Hanover, Henrico, King George, Lancaster, Louisa, Madison, Mathews, Middlesex, Northampton, Northumberland, Orange, Richmond, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Spotsylvania, Westmoreland and York, as well as the cities of
