Nursing course

set at LFCC

Lord Fairfax Community College has scheduled the 80 hour Geriatric Nursing Assistant Training course for the 1987 summer quarter, pie lecture component of the course is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., June 16 to July 16. Additionally, students will be required to complete a 50 hour training practicum during the five week session. The fee for the course is $101.10.

Upon successful completion of the course students will be qualified to function as geriatric nursing assistants in nursing homes, hospitals, or in-home health settings. A certificate will be awarded.

The instructor for the course, Mary Jo Whitacre, R.N., M.S.N., has instructed and supervised nursing assistants in home health care, nursing homes, and hospital settings over the past fifteen years. She has also taught courses for Registered and Licenses Practical Nurses.

Registration for the summer quarter is scheduled from June 1 through 12, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
