Band concert

at Amphitheater

The Front Royal and Warren County Community Band will present a concert this Friday, June 5, at the Front Royal/Warren County Amphitheater (Northern Virginia Education 4-H Center) at 8 p.m.

Other concerts are as follows: June 19, 7:30 p.m., behind the Raymond E. Santmyers Youth Center; and July 3, 8 p.m., Front RoyalWarren County Amphitheater, Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center. Each concert will feature an assortment of marches, light concert, show tunes and patriotic selections.

The Community band, which began rehearsals last September, has membership of approximately 60 musicians from Front Royal, Winchester, Berryville and surrounding communities.

The Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion sponsors the community band and Randolph-Macon Academy provides rehearsal facilities and some equipment.

Local musicians are welcome to join the band. Those interested should contact co-directors John Russell or Ed Richards at 636-9432 or 636-6081, or simply show up at one of the Band’s rehearsals. The Community Band rehearses at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings in the band room at Randolph-Macon Academy.
