Washington residents organize
An organizational meeting for the town of Washington Residents’ Association will be held at the Black Kettle on Thursday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. The purpose of the organization is to promote fairness in town government.
Farm Show planned
The Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Show will be held July 23-27 at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprise grounds. Saturday, July 25, is Rappahannock Day. For additional information call the Rappahannock Extension Office at 675-3619.
New Rappahannock Views
A one-woman show of photographs and montages by Clyde Lee will open Saturday, June 6 from 6 until 9 p.m. at Middle Street Gallery in Washington. The exhibition includes imaginative use of scale, mystical imagery and collage based on “New Rappahannock Views.” The show will run through June. Call 675-3440 for information.
Summer reading program
READiscover U.S.-Celebrate, at the Rappahannock Library this summer! If you are ages 3 to 12, you can participate in a fantastic journey into America’s exciting past, or beyond to our future, as you discover new books and other activities in the library. Transportation plays a big part in this year’s Summer Reading Program - how did our forefathers get around the world, and how will our grandchildren? Maybe you can help decide the future.
Registration for the program begins now, and the first schediftd event is on June 24 at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited to come to the library which will also be offering a wide assortment of books on a variety of subjects. Planned activities include story hour, name the mouse contest and a reading quilt.
