Mr. Delano praised the Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries’ action which should help balance both the deer and quail populations in several regions of the Old Dominion.

The new plan, says Mr. Delano, will bring deer herds in line with their natural food supplies, while assuring hunters of healthy, diseasefree game.

The new action also aids Virginia farmers, he pointed out. With the anticipated lower deer populations in these counties, which are located primarily in Virginia’s grain belt, Mr. Delano said farmers will be relieved from deer herds feasting on their valuable crops.
