A Highway Department attempt
to justify its plans to replace an iron truss bridge in Rappahannock County came a cropper at last Thursday’s meeting of the county’s Board of Supervisors. But if Resident Highway Engineer James Skeens appeared slightly embarrassed, he got the Supervisors’ endorsement, anyway, for tearing down the old bridge at Laurel Mills and replacing it with a new, concrete structure.
