The new deer harvest regulations are in effect this year and expand either the allowable harvest or length of the season in the counties of Rappahannock, Bedford, King George, Halifax, Lancaster, Westmoreland, Northumberland, Mecklenburg, Richmond, Prince George and parts of Powhatan and Pittsyl vania.

To ease pressure on the shrinking quail populations in Virginia, the Commission shortened the season statewide by 20 days beginning this year. The quail season will run from November 16, 1987 to January 30, 1988.
