Carnival set for June 10-13 The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual carnival June 10-13. The parade will be featured on Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m. Anyone wishing to volunteer their time in helping with the carnival, donating food, or entering anything in the parade, contact the firehouse at 937-5125 or Sheila Scott at 937-4357.
RAAC seeks talent! Local musicians, dancers, comedians - even dumb animal acts - are needed to audition for RAAC’s famous all-star revue, directed this year by Maggie Rogers. All ages, all talents are encouraged to audition on Saturday, June 6,2:30 p.m. or Tuesday, June 9, 7:30 p.m. at the Gay Street Theatre. The show will be held Saturday, June 20, with a rehearsal on June 17.

Basic video workshop RAAC’s Artists’ Forum series will present a workshop on Basic Video Production at Blackwater Homestead on Saturday, June 6, from 1 to 6 p.m. Grayson Mattingly will conduct a hands-on workshop on the skills and techniques required to set up and operate a single-camera VCR system. Participants will practice the demonstrated skills by * completing structured exercises. An informal presentation and dis* cussion of specific applications will follow a potluck supper toward the end of the day. The cost will be $15. Nursing program openings There are still a few openings available in Piedmont Technical Education Center’s 18 month Practical Nursing Program which begins in September. Vacation Bible School Trinity’s Vacation Bible School, co-sponsored with Washington Baptist Church and offered to the community, will be June 22-26 this year. Marsha Thompson will be director.
