Moth control demonstration
Acecaps, a tree implant method of controlling gypsy moths, will be demonstrated by representatives from the Virginia Extension Service during a presentation on the courthouse lawn Monday, May 7 at 10 a.m. Following the demonstration and questions, the Extension crevy will go to George Sharp's Mountain Green Farm in Harris Hollow to place the implants in his oak trees. The implant works by releasing insecticide into the tree's sap system, which poisons the caterpillars as they eat the tree's leaves. For more information, call the Extension office (675-3619).
Family stories retold
“The Ties That Bind," an original dramatic production based on grandparents' stories collected by students at Rappahannock County Elementary and ffigh School, will be presented this * ■**' * " yveekend in the high school auditorium. Directed by playwright Catherine Kiley, with assistance from Laurie Marshall and Choreography by Jonathan Wolken, the two-act production features dramatic sequences developed by the 16 studentactors themselves. The public is invited to attend. Proceeds from the show will be used to publish a book of the more than 75 stories collected by the students during their research for the production.
