Aerial spraying to combat the advance of gypsy moths through the county will begin this week, according to Gary McAninch, director of the Appalachian Integrated Pest Management Program.
Mr. McAninch said that, if weather conditions permit, spraying will begin Thursday, May 3 in the blocks previously designated in the county. Most are in the southern third of the county, in and around Castleton, Slate Mills and along the border of the Shenandoah National Park.
