Mrs. Parrish called the council “a good balance of opinion. I think we will work well together . . . I’m looking forward to serving the community.”
Mr. Fisher, the dean of the council with 12 years service, said he is “real pleased with the outcome, the turnout — and the way the town responded to the issues facing it.”
The next council, he said, “has a very busy agenda. We’ve got a lot of things to be done: a revision of the Comprehensive Plan, cleaning up the zoning ordinances, and other housekeeping matters.”
The voters, Mr. Fisher added, “sent us a clear message that they want us to do a lot of work."
The new council begins its fouryear term in July, when it will be sworn in by Clerk Diane Bruce.
