This year’s fair will feature demonstrations by local artisans and craft persons, some of whom will offer herb related products for sale, including artwork, note paper, potpourri, dried bouquets, dried culinary herbs, bath products, honeys and vinegars. A popular stop at the Fair has proved to be the “Taste Place” where foods prepared with herbs may be sampled. A first this year will be a small, inexpensive cookbook featuring recipes from Guild members. These are dishes members have brought to the annual business meeting/pot luck luncheon, very popular meetings!

The Goose Creek Herb Guild is a non-profit, educational organization in which members may learn more about growing and using herbs, as well as good gardening practices in general. The Guild has helped to establish several gardens open to the public and has also created a scholarship fund at Northern Virginia Community College, which is awarded to the outstanding Horticulture student at NOVA’s Loudoun Campus.

Persons interested in being a part of the Guild may receive more information by calling (703) 777-2947 or (703) 554-8594.
