“Don’t Let The Light Go Out” is the theme of National Sight-Saving Month, which focuses national attention on glaucoma this May.
According to Prevent BlindnessVirginia, one out of every eight legally blind people lost vision to glaucoma. “In most cases, that blindness could have been prevented,” said Executive Director Frank Carlomagno. “That’s the tragic paradox of glaucoma, an eye disease related to the build up of pressure inside the eye.”
