The report predicts ‘intensive growth” near interchanges. No interchange is planned for Fauquier. The nearest cloverleaf would be on Route 28 across the Prince William County line.
A piece of bypass roaring through Fauquier would add as few as 1,200 residents over the no-build alternative or as many as 8,000 —depending on which corridor were chosen. Local planners and elected officials believe these figures are too low.
