The Goose Creek Herb Guild will hold its ninth annual Herb Fair and Sale on Friday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Middleburg Community Center on U.S. 50, in Middleburg.
The Guild will offer about 3,000 plants for sale this year to include popular culinary herbs, such as basil, dill, parsley, sage, thyme, rosemary, plus many unusual and hard to find herbs. Also available will be flowering plants to compliment the garden, along with a wide choice of everlastings which dry and keep well, such as strawflowers, salvia, globe amaranth, statice and pearly everlasting.
Unusual, hard-to-find herbs will be on hand, such as Lady’s Mantle, santolina, southernwood, anise hyssop, Dittany of Crete, sorrel, sweet ,bay and many others. You will also find many unusual varieties of old favorites: several different basils and sages, many mints, thymes and scented geraniums.
Also available will be boxwood, roses and small statuary. The Virginia Native Plant Society will sell wild flowers and a wide variety of gardening books will be offered at 10 percent off. The 4-H Rabbit Club will sell “Bunny Bullets,” a wonderful organic fertilizer.
