SWCD technician Nancy Grimes said that interest in the Virginia Agricultural Best Management Practices Cost-Share Program, known as the Chesapeake Bay Program, is growing.
There are a total of 26 practices which are eligible for cost-share assistance through the program, she added. They include stripcropping and waste collection systems, spring improvement systems for grazing cattle, seeding and sodding highly erodible soil, and no-till systems for cropland.
There are a total of 21 different best management practices eligible for funding under the cost-share program. For more information about the Chesapeake Bay Program, the practices eligible and the requirements, contact the county Extension office (675-3619), the ASCS office (675-3616) or the Soil and Water Conservation District office in Culpeper (825-4200).
