The Lions will also auction off a beautiful grandfather clock donated by master clockmaker Eugene Tucker of Washington. It is now on display in the front lobby of the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Flint Hill. Tickets are $1 each, available at the bank or from any Lions Club member.
People who are completely deaf often have difficulties, but if some measure of hearing can be restored their lives are brightened immeasurably. The Lions Hearing Foundation of Virginia underwrites a newly discovered surgical procedure that sometimes can do this.
But the cost is about $30,000, and it’s not covered by most of the medical insurance plans we hear so much about. But for the Lions, the less fortunate would do without.
