Rappahannock 8th graders rank below the national sample in all 11 categories of drugs: 27.3 percent have used cigarettes compared to 29.1 percent nationally; 37.9 percent have used beer compared to 38.6 percent nationally; 36.4 percent have used wane coolers compared to .‘18.9 percent nationally; 20 percent have used liquor compared to 28.1 percent nationally; 1.5 percent have used marijuana compared to 7.1 percent nationally; and none of the 8th graders report using cocaine, dow'ners, inhalants, or hallucinogens compared to 1.8 percent, 2.8 percent, 5.1 percent, and 2.1 percent in the national figures.
