1963, having served as chief, firstever rescue captain, assistant chief, and president. He served as chief for eight years, turning over the reins in January, 1991.

• Member, McLean Fire Department since 1938, joining when he was only 15 years old.

Mr. Poling is also very active in the Amissville United Methodist Church, where he is former Church Board chairman, a lay speaker, and for 25 years taught adult Sunday school.

He retired after 33 years as a staff engineer with C&P Telephone.
