VDOT office dedication
A program at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 will formally dedicate the new Virginia Department of Transportation’s Warrenton residency office building in Warrenton. The public is invited to attend. The new building is located off East Shirley Ave. just north of its intersection with Falmouth St. in the town of Warrenton.
The Warrenton residency is one of four residencies in the ninecounty Culpeper district. Warrenton resident Bob Moore and his staff are responsible forVighway maintenance, construction and permits in Fauquier and Rappahannock counties.
Sewing seminar to be held
“Updating Your Sewing Skills” will be the topic of a sewing seminar at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Rappahannock County Extension Office. The speaker, Beverly Butterfield, who is the Extension Home Economist in Fauquier County, will discuss and demonstrate what’s new for 1992 in fabrics, notions, finishing techniques, serging, embellishments to garments and other tips for the home sewer. 'Culpeper Day' to be held
The Culpeper Jaycees will be sponsoring “Culpej^r Day” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 2 on Davis St. in downtown Culpeper. The festival will take place rain or shine. Persons interested in reserving a space to display crafts, information and/or exhibits must send a completed entry form by April 15. The cost of each sapce (equivalent to a parking space) is $25. Parenting workshop
Child Care and Learning Center will be presenting its monthly parenting workshop at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13. This month’s topic is “Communicating with Young Children.” Admission is free and open to the public. Babysitting is provided. “Come out and improve your parenting skills,” said a spokesperson. Antique show
The Warrenton Antique Show will be held at the Armory Feb. 21, 22 and 23. The show will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 21 and 22 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 23. The Armory is located across from Fauquier High School. Admission is $2.
Dance at Amissville
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a Leap Year dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29. The band ‘Tarragon” will play. Proper dress and identification is required. For more information call 937-4357.
