Nina Compton

Nina Gore Compton, 77, of Culpeper, died Thursday, Feb. 6 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Compton was born on May 8, 1914, in Rappahannock to the late Bessie Gooch Gore and Columbus . Gore.

Mrs. Compton was a member of Gourdvine Baptist Church and had worked at Linton Hall Military School in Bristow, Va. for 15 yers in the bakery and cafeteria.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Compton on ' Dec. 19,1991.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Sam M. and Jean Dowell Compton of Rixeyville; three borthers, Eddie Gore of Maryland, Richard Gore of Castleton and Ennis Gore of Orange; a sister, Marie Utz of Castleton; a sister-in-law, Louise C. Woodard and two grandsons, Jeremy Compton and Jason Compton, both of Rixeyville..

Funeral services were held at Found & Sons Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, Feb. 9 with the Rev. Gordon George and the Rev. John Miller officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her nephews.
