My name was automatically cleared. I then sought legal advice concerning the matter in Fauquier County and also explained the actions of Deputy [Connie] Compton. It was then suggested I file a formal complaint with the sheriff.
At this time I went to Sheriff Woodward to file the complaint and this is what happened: Sheriff Woodward said, “May I help you?” “Yes,” I replied. “I would like to file a formal complaint.” “File it.” he snapped. “Don’t I need paperwork?” I • asked. “No, just file it,” he snapped again.
I started to explain to him again what had happened and he cut me off and said, “We were looking for your tag numbjer. Now you have made your complaint, there’s the door, GET OUT.” He was not interested in anything I had to say.
My truck is parked under a pole light in clear sight of the highway and it is white. If they needed a tag number it was the first vehicle she came to driving down the drive.
It would have been very easy to pull in behind the vehicle, get the number, back out and leave, but Deputy Compton chose to drive by the vehicle, by the house about 100 yards to the next house, causing havoc with the dog and waking everyone up by shining her spotlight all over the place.
