Wine Tasting
Gray Ghost Vineyards will host the first barrel tasting of their Cabernets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20. The four wines selected for the tasting will include the 1993 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon; 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon; the 1993 Gray Ghost Cabernet Franc and the 1994 Echo Ridge Cabernet Franc. All wines were produced from grapes grown in Rappahannock County.
This special event allows participants to actually sample wines directly from the barrels. The public is seldom given the opportunity to experience this form of wine tasting.
As part of the two day event, the Kellerts will provide samplings of cheeses and hors d’oeuvres to accompany the wines. Each participant will receive one of the distinctive tasting room glasses as a sourenir of the event and be given the opprtunity to purchase futures n the 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon at 15 percent off the regular case price. Cost of the barrel tasting will be $1Q per person.
Gray Ghost Vineyards currently has their 1993 Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc and Cabernet Franc available in the winery.
