On Oct. 19 the Virginia Resources Authority closed a $1.62 million eight-year bond issue for the County of Rappahannoack at a true interest cost of 5.03 percent. The County will use the proceeds to construct a third cell at its landfill located on Route 639 in Amissville. This cell, at 4.4 acres, will be the largest cell built at the site to date.
In addition, the County will extend the existing road and install scales at the landfill. The County will also consolidate the two green box sites into one centralized, manned green box site in addition to the one located at the landfill site.
