Starting Dec. 1, Sprint/Centel customers in Washington will be able to dial Culpeper telephone numbers without incurring long distance . charges. ;
This Extended Local Service’ (ELS) plan will be available to all ,* Culpeper area telephone numbers beginning with the prefixes “262,” “399,” “423,” “547,” “825,” “829,” and “937.” Culpeper is a Bell-Atlantic exchange.
Earlier this year, a majority of - Sprint/Centel customers polled in Washington voted in favor of ELS to the Culpeper area. *
Starting Dec. 1, when the ELSH plan becomes effective, Washington, customers can call Culpeper using only the seven digit telephon num^< ber; dialing “1” plus the area code! before the number will no longer be" required.
