expects to take a walk through the elementary school addition with the, building inspector and architect next Thursday. If the work is satisfactory, it will still be necessary to wax the floors and allow the building to air out before students can move in. He said the contractors expect to begin installing ceiling tile and floor tile this week. The move into the addition has been postponed one month, he reported.
The board apporved a calendar for adopting next year’s budget. The December meeting is scheduled for the public and school employees to make recommendations on what they would like to see included in the next budget.
Dr. Gangel reported that unexpected expenses have already cost the school system over $31,000 and that figure is expected to double when a new teacher is hired for special education. The largest items in t the list he presented are for special education. Many of the other unexpected expenses were for repair and maintenance of equipment.
