In the second category, the Cutest and Cuddliest and crowned “Alma,” the winners were Danielle and Ethan Shives of Big Poll, Md. Danielle is a seven year old second grader and Ethan is a four and a half year old kindergartner. They both attend Clear Spring Elementary School in Clar Spring, Md. Danielle and Ethan received $100. The runner-up in this category was Jonathan Cbz of Williamsport, Md. Jonathan is a 12 year old seventh grader at Springfield Elementary School. Jonathan receives six gropes of the 1995 Almanack to share with his family and friends.
For the seventh year in a row, the sponsors, the Hagerstown Town and Country Almanack, put a lot of emphasis on trying to get the school children in the areas to participate. A number of schools made this a class project. In additional to the schools participating from Washington County, we also heard from several schools in surrounding counties.
