John L. Marocchi, at the request of Robert Anderson, president of the Rappahannock County Farm Bureau, represented members at the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation’s Annual Resolutions Meeting Nov. 2-3 in Natural Bridge.
C. Wayne Ashworth, President of the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, called the meeting one of Farm Bureau’s most important yearly functions.
“Farmers are very concerned about the future of such things as the 1995 Farm Bill, the environ-, ment, world trade, government regulations and private property rights,” Mr. Ashworth said.
The statewide meeting included discussion of land use taxation, nonpoint source pollution regulations, right-to-farm legislation and how to gain more funding for major agricultural programs at Virginia Tech, the Virginia Department of Agirculture and consumer Services, the U.S. Soil Conservation Service and others.

Policies developed during the resolutions meeting will be considered for official VFBF policy during the organization’s annual convention Nov. 28-Dec. 1 in Richmond.
Many of the resolutions approved there will be lobbied for during the 1995 Virginia General Assembly and in Congress.
