Gangel reports that no vocational expansion is currently planned for the high school. Only 18 county students are enrolled at * Piedmont now. At this time there are no county students in the Licensed Practical Nursing program reported to be in jeopardy due to budget cuts and minimal high school enrollment.

In his detailed budget report, Gangel assured the board that all “top priority items are in the budget,” though he is not sure what total revenues will be because the General Assembly remains in session. He expects state revenue increases to cover all operational needs, but additional money will definitely be needed for capital improvements, architectural consultants, and performance contracts. He also reported that Del. Jay Katzen’s efforts to get General Assembly action on amending the county’s composite index computation received no support at the committee level. Said Tble, “We are on our own in the county.”
