Even after retirement from service with the park police, the working horses are donated again into approved, wellestablished loving homes. And besides that, for the time they are police horses, they are some seriously pampered beasts.

When walking the beat, a mounted policeman’s horse is automatically a tourist attraction. Visitors to the district adore the uniformed officers, and especially their mounts. Tourists fight amongst themselves for a chance to stand for a picture with the mounted policemen.
