Volleyball teams win district titles,

recognition is due all around

The outstanding achievements made this last

week (and indeed all season) by the

Rappahannock High School girls volleyball teams should be recognized county wide.

Both teams won the Bull Run District title and the junior varsity won the tournament as well. The varsity team has four players named to all-district — Meghan Fairbrother, Alice Gentry, Katy Paratore and Courtney Mauro.

The junior varsity went undefeated and the varsity went to regional competition for the first time in the school’s history.

As if those accomplishments weren’t enough to rate high praise there is more.

Mauro has been named Player of the Year and varsity coach Laura Conklin was named Coach of the Year. The teams’ records and recognition they have garnered is a testament to their hard work and dedication and to the hard work and faith of their coaches, Conklin and junior varsity coach Heidi Maeyer.

They have done Rappahannock proud.
