Mr. and Mrs. Jim Peyton were honored on Sunday when they were crowned “King and Queen” at the Valentine program held on Sunday at Black Oak Regular Baptist Church. For lunch the Peytons dined at Golden Corral in Culpeper and were joined by daughter Penny and son Kindal. Also attending were Mrs. Jeff Peyton and daughter Kamry of Madison, John Baker of Griffinsburg and Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville. The Peytons have recently moved back to Boston, after several years of residency in Culpeper.
This Friday, Feb. 20 the Singing and Pickin party will take place at Salem Fire Hall beginning at 7 p.m. As always food will be available by the department. Admission is free and you can call 825-0781 for any information.
Belated birthday wishes go out to Bill Peregory who added another year last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Shelvy Frazier had as Monday luncheon guest, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Burke of Rochelle.
Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Grigsby and children hosted a party Sunday to honor Ray Wharton on his 35th birthday. Those attending the party were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wharton of Woodville, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bragg, Kellie, Karla, Matthew and Mark of Culpeper, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peregory, Joseph and Jennifer, Mr. and Mrs. Shelvy Frazier, Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Heflin, Michael, Crystal and Jacob, and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Roberson and Timmy, all local.
Castleton Fire Department held a Valentine Day breakfast at the fire hall on Sunday morning with a goodly number in attendance.
