Lyle Russell Grigsby, 79, of Haywood in Madison County died on Saturday, Feb. 14 at his residence.
Born June 1, 1918 in Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late John and Mary Jenkins Grigsby.
He was a retired farmer from the Gilnock Farm in Madison.
He is survived by his wife Lillie Campbell Grigsby of Haywood; two foster sons Joe E. Campbell and John R. Campbell, both of Haywood; one brother Willie B. Grigsby of Orange and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Henry Grigsby and a sister Elizabeth Wharton.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with the Rev.
